If you want a local-feeling izakaya around Yokohama Station and you are comfortable with motsu, this is a very easy recommendation.

Gin no Rikyu Yokohama

Technically yakiniku — but I still use it like an izakaya.
Gin no Rikyu is the outlier in this list because it is primarily a yakiniku restaurant. I kept it here anyway because the meat is good and the menu gives you enough small dishes and drinks to use the place more casually than a formal yakiniku dinner.
If the group wants meat rather than seafood or skewers, this is the change of pace. Order grilled beef, add a few side dishes, and treat the table like a drinking night rather than a fixed-course meal.
It is seventh only because the genre is different. If you are a meat-first person, it may be one of the first places on this list that catches your attention.
